Volunteer Signups Open Tonight
Barracudas Season Kickoff
|
|
Hi Barracudas Families,
We’re excited to kick off another great season tonight at our Parent Meeting—and especially excited to welcome our new families!
One of the things that makes the Bartram Springs Barracudas such a fun, successful, and community-driven team is our
parent volunteers. Simply put, our swim meets can’t happen without you.
|
|
What to Expect
• Volunteer job signups will open
tonight after the Parent Meeting
• Jobs are
first come, first served
• Each family is expected to volunteer during the season
| |
|
Volunteer Commitment
• 4 volunteer sessions during regular season meets
• 1 volunteer session at
Champs — our championship meet at Bolles
• Each session is
one shift, and most meets are split into multiple shifts so you can choose what works best for your schedule
| |
|
If you’re new to swim team, don’t worry—
no experience is needed for most roles. We’ll make sure you feel comfortable, and many positions are simple, social, and a great way to be part of the action on deck.
|
|
Common Volunteer Roles
- Timers – Use a stopwatch to time swimmers and enjoy a front-row view of the races
- Ready Bench / Clerk of Course – Help line swimmers up and keep the meet running smoothly
- Runner – Collect timing sheets, deliver them to the scoring table, and hand out water to volunteers on deck
- Concessions / Setup / Breakdown – Help with team operations behind the scenes
- Stroke & Turn / Starter / HMO – Trained roles for parents who want to get more involved
|
|
Helpful to Know
- Home meets require more volunteers because we host the event
- Away meets require fewer volunteers, usually timers, ready bench, and stroke & turn
- You’ll be able to choose jobs and shifts that fit your schedule

We’ll walk through the volunteer process and roles during tonight’s meeting so everyone knows what to expect.
Our goal is simple:
spread the work across all families so no one feels overwhelmed—and everyone gets to enjoy the season.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask at the meeting or reach out anytime.
Looking forward to seeing you tonight!
Go Barracudas!
