Message from Coach Ben- Week#4 update
Barracudas-
Happy week 4!
What a GREAT first meet with the Julington Creek Porpoises. We had many great first time races and a lot of dropped time from both the mock meet and previous season times of our Barracudas.
All our parent volunteers worked well together as the green machine and as always (and expected) we were great hosts to our visitors.
DQ-
Throughout the meet we have our swimmers race in events in which they may or may not be DQ’d based on their performance.
Each stroke and event calls for specific movements and strokes to be observed and performed, if this does not happen, the swimmer will be disqualified and their times and points will not count towards the meet.
It is the role of both the coach and swimmer to minimize this possibility throughout the season but this does occur often!
Without challenge there is no growth. The goal is to get better every practice and every race to become a better athlete, mentally and physically.
This week we will continue to increase our set development as well as hone in on corrections needed to get better!
MEMORIAL DAY
There is no practice Memorial Day. Please honor our armed services members accordingly!
