Message from Coach Ben- Week #5 Update

Barracudas!

After a long weekend we are excited to start another wonderful week of Barracuda Summer Swim. This week we are preparing to face the St. Johns Stingrays in Barracuda Bay.

PRACTICES

This week is the last week of afternoon practices. Please be sure to take a look at our summer AM schedule that is on the website.

It looks like we may have weather in the area that will impact practices throughout the week. Be on the lookout for weather updates sent out on the top, quarter, or half of the hour during practices times. If nothing is sent out, practice at the time you check is still on.

CHALLENGE

We are moving into the month of June. Our practices will begin to develop more, and our swimmer's individual entries will be discussed during this week.

"Without challenge, there is no growth!"

Moving into our meets we want to be sure we push our swimmers to engage in individual entries that will challenge their skill set, this means that the potential of a swimmer DQ in a race may increase.

Let it be known that we want to give as many opportunities as possible for swimmer to; swim an event and drop time, swim an event they enjoy, swim an event they do not enjoy, and also swim an event in which they can potentially have a new time (in a new stroke) this summer!

Our coaches will foster this approach in a positive and healthy way, so our young people, through sports, prepare to face and manage challenges, failures, and success' in other aspects that life has to offer as well.

RELAYS

we develop our relays by accumulating the best times of all swimmers (fly, back, breast, free) at the specific meet being held. Relays and their athletes will change throughout the summer based on attendance. By the end of the season at CHAMPS, we will have 1 relay that represents the age group.

No matter what relay your swimmer is on, it has and will be continued to be discussed that we are supporting ALL of our Barracudas A Relay- D Relay; to cheer each other on with sportsmanship, leadership, and teamwork! It is the Barracuda Way.

I DO DELCARE!

By this time, you should have declared your swimmer for the upcoming meet:)

Let's Go Barracudas!
